Namaz

Qadah Namaz

Islam is one of the major religions which is followed by almost 2billion people in all world. Like other religions, it has its way of connection with Allah Almighty which is in the form of Salah or Namaz.

Through this means of connection, Muslims form this relation with Allah Almighty which is the purest form of relation and also the closest relation one can make with the Creator of this World.

As it is said in the Holy Book Quran (29:45) “Verily, the prayer keeps one from the great sins and evil deeds.” salah is a vital part of Iman. It is the second pillar of Islam. As it is said on the day of judgment, the first question asked will be about namaz. It clearly states the importance of namaz in every Muslim’s life. Salah is the soul of religion, it purifies your Imaan.

Namaz in Time:

If one offers namaz on time it means he has got his soul and does no wrong in the world. Allah will hold his hand in every thick and thin. But if one does not offer namaz on purpose, that person is considered as a soulless man.

Namaz is the road to success because if you are offering namaz you will be dear to Allah Almighty and He will guide you the strongest and brightest path and the path that is best for you but if you do not offer namaz it means you are making Allah Almighty angry with you.

Salah is obligatory and it is a responsibility of a Muslim to offer prayer at his appointed time. But our religion has a soft corner for its believers. So, there are certain conditions in which shariah allows us to offer prayer later than the appointed time.

Conditions to Qaddah Your Namaz:

Such conditions include: unconscious or insane or unintentionally sleep at the time of the prayer or namaz. That Salah will be known as Qaddah Salah. Allah has told us various times in various ways that He does not waste the good actions performed by any being. For women, if they are in a state of hayd or nifas then namaz is not wajib on them. In such state so they are not obliged to offer qadda namaz for that.

Hazarat Muhammad (PBUH) once said:

“There is no negligence in sleep, but negligence occurs while one is awake. If one of you forgets a namaz or sleeps through its time, then he should pray it when he remembers it.”

Related by an-Nasa’i and at-Tirmidhi.

It is important to keep in mind that qaddah Salah has no related ayat. But as “fard” namaz is our obligation that’s why we are supposed to offer it whenever we remember it. For qaddah prayers, we are supposed to offer the fard namaz of every prayer along with witr in Isha.

Qaddah Namaz For Fajar Prayer:

As it is said that if one has missed the prayer due to oversleeping or forgetfulness he should offer it as soon as he remembers it and for Fajar prayer it is said that one should offer the obligatory prayers which are 2 fard to make up the missed fajr prayer.

Qaddah Namaz For Zuhr Prayer:

If one has missed the zuhr prayer, he should offer it as soon as he remembers it. To make up for it he should offer the obligatory prayers which are 4 fard.

Qaddah Namaz For Asr Prayer:

If one has missed the zuhr prayer, he should offer it as soon as he remembers it. To make up for it he should offer the obligatory prayers which are 4 fard.

Qaddah Salah For Maghrib Prayer:

If one has missed the zuhr prayer, he should offer it as soon as he remembers it. To make up for it he should offer the obligatory prayers which are 3 fard.

Qaddah Namaz For Isha Prayer:

If one has missed the zuhr prayer, he should offer it as soon as he remembers it. To make up for it he should offer the obligatory prayers which are 4 fard along with witr.

It is important to keep in mind that qaddah namaz has no related ayat. But as “fard” namaz is our obligation that’s why we are supposed to offer it whenever we remember it.

The best time for qaddah Salah:

There is no such tradition in our religion about qaddah namaz according to sahih hadith. But it is said in Islam that you can offer fajr prayer even after sunrise if you wanted to wake up but could not or if you got busy with something and forgot about it.

But benign a Muslim we are supposed to offer fard namaz and due to some reason we did not offer it on time so, offer it whenever you remember it.

When we should not offer qaddah namaz:

It is said that you can not perform any other religious activity at the time of sunrise, sunset, or when the sun reaches the highest time which is the afternoon time. Muslims are permissible to offer prayer in the above mentioned time. But, you can wait for 5-10mins to get past this time and then perform any of your religious obligation.

Manners of performing Namaz/Qaddah Namaz:

It is obligatory to wear proper clothes and to cover yourself properly and also do ablution before you stand in front of Allah Almighty. For women, it is obligatory to cover themselves from the head in such a way that no one can see a single hair coming out of it till the toe. For man, it is not obligatory to cover his head as he is the glory of Allah Almighty but a woman is the glory of a man that’s why she should cover her head.
